WORLD PUBLIC FORUM
“DIALOGUE OF CIVILIZATIONS”
Rhodes, Greece, September 3-6, 2003
The overall objective of the Forum is a constructive exchange of views and joint search for an understanding of widely acknowledged challenges facing the contemporary world including globalization, new security paradigms, ecological destruction, the global economic crisis, the religious and cultural self-identification of peoples and nations, as well as a new, humane order.
The World Public Forum «Dialogue of Civilizations» (hereafter – WPF) will be held in the combined format of 4 plenary sessions and 4 panels. This format provides an opportunity to focus on the problems of the Forum in a limited time frame but also to evaluate the widest possible variety of opinions and estimates of the maximum number of participants.
The agenda includes 16 basic reports given at plenary sessions (each up to 25 minutes), and up to 40 reports and statements in the context of panels (15 minutes). The accepting of the final document is also a part of the forum’s agenda. The results of the WPF will be released in a publication of the collection of articles (in English) and proceedings (in Russian).
Plenary sessions and panel discussions of the Forum will be held on September 4th and 5th in the conference facilities of the Rhodes Palace Hotel and in the Lock of Knights of the Award of the St. John of Jerusalem with kind permission of the government of Greece.
The initiative of the forum was approved by the Presidents of Russia, Lithuania, Iran, Uzbekistan, and supreme officials of India, Greece, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Ecumenical Patriarch, representatives of UNESCO, the PACE and a number of influential international, public, religious and state organizations and top international businesses.
The organizing committee of the WPF provides international airfares, board and lodging and in - country travel for participants for the duration of the Forum. A substantial cultural program is stipulated.

- Dialogue of Civilizations in the Contemporary World;
- Dialogue of Cultures & Religions in Global development and Dialogue of Civilizations;
- New Security Paradigms in the Age of Globalization and Dialogue of Civilizations;
- Prospects and Prognosis of the World Development
